Prove your tonne really arrived

Verified chain of custody for UK packaging recycling evidence

We prove where
the recycling went.

A recovery note is a claim — a tonne was recycled. TonneTrack verifies the chain behind that claim.

Independent weighbridge readings, sealed containers, arrival confirmed at the overseas gate — every step recorded by a different pair of hands, the moment it happened. When the regulator asks, you don’t hand over your own paperwork. You hand over a chain of events no one person could have written.

For accredited exporters and reprocessors, and the brokers who supply them · what we record

Said plainly

We don’t stop fraud. We make it visible.

Two colluders can still agree a number. They can’t agree with a seal they never saw, a weighbridge they don’t own, or a photo pinned to the spot it was taken. And we never issue a PRN or PERN — accredited operators do. We record that they did, and the chain behind it.

The evidence loop

Ten steps. One record in the middle.

Watch it four times over: the process as it should run, then every point where the tonne can leave that story, then the checks TonneTrack runs from the record in the middle — and finally all three at once. The PRN or PERN is issued at the one step with no check behind it. That is the gap we close.

What you can say

The paragraph you issue
when it lands on you.

In August 2026 the Guardian and the Environmental Investigation Agency traced 545 shipments from thirteen British companies into one recycling zone in Adana, Turkey. Nothing illegal was alleged. Every exporter asked had the same answer available — and it was an answer about who they chose, not about where the tonne went.

The statement today

“We only work with partners accredited by the regulator, and we carry out our own inspections of the facilities we ship to. We were surprised to learn of these findings.”

Three sentences about process, none about outcome. Nothing in it can be checked, so nothing in it can be believed — and “so how would you know?” has no answer.

The statement with TonneTrack

“Every tonne we export is weighed independently at both ends, sealed and photographed by the site that packs it, and confirmed on arrival at the site named on our shipping documents. We can produce that record for any load, on request.

What happens inside a licensed facility after that gate is not something our records can show — no exporter’s can. That is why we have suspended shipments to that site until it is explained.”

Same shape, and every clause can be checked. The last one names its own limit before a journalist does.

The Guardian · Environmental Investigation Agency · 4 August 2026. No illegality is alleged against any exporter in that reporting, and TonneTrack does not claim to show what happens inside an overseas facility — only that the tonne arrived where you said it would, at the weight you said it was.

Why now

Two dates are already set.

21 NOV 2026

The EU bans plastic waste exports to non-OECD countries. UK exporters still shipping will be the ones under the spotlight.

APRIL 2027

Next door in the plastics tax, chain-of-custody certification with independent audits is on the way. The direction is one way.

Bring us one route.

We’ll run a single load end to end — your yard, your destination, your overseas site — and show you the record it makes. If it tells you nothing new, walk away.
